screen – released in 1987, essential to my productivity today

screen is a venerable little application. First released 27 years ago, it does just one thing: virtual terminal multiplexing. Which sounds as obscure as it is old. And therefore probably irrelevant. But it’s not, and I’m planning on using it for the next 27 years. Especially now I’ve scripted and configured it just as I want.
